Room and bathroom very spacious and spotlessly clean. Powerful shower. Plenty of condiments, including sweetiesWhat more could you want. A tad noisy on the street outside but totally acceptable and earplugs were provided to combat this. Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I recently stayed here and genuinely we loved it. I honestly don’t think you can beat either the value or the location. Just fantastic!! The team were so friendly and the room itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Plus we loved the sweet bowl, very nice touch. We will 100% be back and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family. 5 stars all the way.

This has become my go to sometimes after work as there’s always a good variety of sports shown on the TVs, there’s a nice choice of bevvies, at a cheaper price than most places round here, and there’s always the same friendly welcome waiting for you, no matter who is working the bar. I stayed in a room over the Christmas period and it was a great price, especially given the location. The room was clean, warm and comfortable, and they kept me stocked up on tea and coffee supplies which is a winner.

I think this is a very good hotel! We got amazing 2 bedrooms place for 4 people, repair is very good, the mattress is good, everything looks very fresh, especially the shower! After long journey I was dreaming about super hot shower and I did! Thank you so much! They give your earplugs as well, but it wasn’t that noisy, so we haven’t used it!

Great little pub with a few rooms upstairs. Rooms are spotless and cozy. Expect noise as you are in the busiest part of town, but the hotel even provides ear plugs. You can also store luggage if you are leaving later in the day.

Booked an overnight stay for myself and my daughter. Warm and friendly welcome. The room was really nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, and the overall decor and upkeep was a really high standard throughout. As it's an old building, there's a little noise from the plumbing. And of course, the rooms are above a pub so there was some noise in the evening, but it wasn't by any means intrusive. We were able to watch the TV just fine. We were also able to store bags during the day until we needed to catch our train, which was much appreciated. If I return to Durham, I'll stay there again. Great location, friendly and happy staff.

Kind and welcoming staff, great prices and very clean.

Booked a single room for a solo trip to Durham, which was a good price. Arriving to check-in at the bar, the member of staff was friendly and gave me all the information I needed as she showed me to the room. The single room was cosy but comfortable with a nice decor. I appreciated the free toiletries and the sweet bowl which was a nice touch! The pub itself has a great atmosphere, not too noisy, and all the staff are great. Overall an enjoyable stay.
